November 2021 – Community Resilience Project at Jackson State University

For our November meeting we welcomed Dr. Jessica L Murphy (PI), Professor of Emergency Management Technology at Jackson State University, who spoke on the pioneering work the University is doing in emergency preparedness education, focusing on underserved and rural communities.  JSU has made significant investments in building this program, which encompasses all aspects of emergency management, from the meteorological to the phycological and public relations aspects.  The University also features a state of the art simulator.  Dr. Murphy was also gracious to participate in our 2021 EarthEx simulation, speaking and sitting in with some of the teams.
