Department of Homeland Security Bomb Detection and Threat Management Training coming in July
Birmingham InfraGard Members Alliance and The Department of Homeland Security Office of Bombing Prevention have partnered with Vulcan Materials and Security Engineers Incorporated to bring a critical three day training event on bomb detection and bomb threat management to Central Alabama.
The training is free and open public and private sector emergency management officials, security officers, law enforcement and first responders.
Attendees must have a FEMA SID. If you need a FEMA SID number, go to: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID and click “Register for FEMA SID” or click “Forgot FEMA SID?” if you have forgotten your FEMA SID.

Bombing Prevention Awareness
(AWR-348)
The Bombing Prevention Awareness Course (BPAC) provides participants knowledge of general bombing prevention measures from improvised explosive device (IED) construction and classification through protective measures for potential bombing incidents.

Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device Detection Course
(PER-312)
The Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) Detection course provides participants with knowledge and skills in recognizing the VBIED threat, identification of components and devices, methods for reacting to improvised explosive devices, and the procedures for inspecting vehicles to detect VBIEDs.

Bomb Threat Management Planning
(MGT-451)
The Bomb Threat Management (BTM) Planning Course introduces the participants to the DHS risk management process and the development of a BTM plan. It provides activities that allow participants to apply specific portions of the risk management process and their newly acquired knowledge about bomb threat management procedures to critique mock BTM plans.
