Topic: Mobility in Healthcare: UAB Health System’s Mobile Healthcare Initiatives
This will be an overview of the mobile healthcare initiatives that UAB Health System is implementing in order to allow caregivers the freedom accessing the right data at the right time in the right place. This has been an evolutionary effort that has spanned several years and is continuing to evolve over time as new technologies emerge and business needs are identified.
Presenter: John Bandy, Information Security Architect, UAB Health Systems
John has over 32 years of Information Technology experience with the last 12 years focusing on Information Security. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Security and Assurance from Western Governors University. He also holds a CISSP as well as many other IT certifications. John is currently the Information Security Architect at UAB Health Systems in Birmingham Alabama.
UAB Health Systems has over 16,000 employees, multiple hospitals and 142 clinics servicing over 1,000,000 visits per year. Some of his recent accomplishments include Intrusion Detection, Laptop Encryption, Email Encryption, Centralized Logging and developing a Governance, Risk and Compliance Framework.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There are two visitor parking lots and ample, free street parking.
What is the refund policy?
Cancellation must be made through Eventbrite before Friday, Sept 9th at 12 PM/Noon CT. Refunds (minus any Eventbrite fees) will be acknowledged within 2 business days and can take up to 5 days to process.
What if I can’t attended, but I purchased a lunch?
Any lunches left over at the end of the meeting (1:00 PM CT) will be donated to the Chapter. We cannot carry over payments to the next month meeting.
Can I bring my own lunch?
Absolutely! If you did not order a lunch, feel free to bring your own.
Will there be any extra lunches (that can be bought at the door)?
No. Lunches are made to order.
